Stop and start system processes

Stop system processes to troubleshoot issues on a device. If a process or application is causing problems, you can stop it to assess the issue and restart it as needed..

This feature is only available for managed Windows devices with N-able N-central agents installed.

Stop the process or application

  1. Go to Views > All Devices and select the Network Devices tab.
  2. Select the device Name.
  3. Go to Tools > Processes.
  4. Select the check box beside each of the names of the processes to stop.
  5. Choose Endto stop the process or application.

If any open programs are associated with the processes you stop, they will close and any unsaved data will be lost. Ending a system process may cause the system to become unstable.

Start a process or application

To restart a process or application, select Start New, and enter the name of the application or process, along with the account it should run under.
